Add A Little Spice to Your Life!

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and since it's just around the corner, I've decided it is time to get some fall cleaning done.

I love to organize things. I don't know about you, but when things are out of order, I find it hard to function.  I have tried, really I have, but somehow I cannot think in chaos.  I also love finding different ways to organize things, whether it is in my cupboards, drawers, closets, and such.  I know this is a bit strange, but I even love going down the section at the store where all of the various organizational items are displayed.  I have a fascination for containers that stack; for cupboard racks, closet boxes, drawer dividers, etc.

Since my spice cupboards left much to be desired,  I went on a search for the best way to keep my spices neat and not have to dig through what has become a myriad of jars in order to find the one I want.  After much searching, I finally came across a set of containers on the internet that looked amazing, so I purchased them. They were a bit pricey but well worth the money, and I decided it was an investment that would last me the rest of my life.  So I ordered several sets.

One of the reasons I love them so much is that they stack very nicely.  If you have a lazy-susan, you can put that to use, and then they will take up even less room in your cupboards.  When you need cinnamon, just spin the lazy-susan around--oh, there it is!  Nutmeg?  Oh, right next to it.  It's so easy that I might buy some obscure spices like fenugreek and golpar, you know, just because I can!  Then I arranged them by spice groups, but next week I might decide to arrange the alphabetically, if I get the itch.

If you have room and would like to display them on your cupboard, you can turn them so the spices show, which makes a beautiful display.

In my bottom cupboard I put the ones I use most frequently, such as salt, sugar, cinnamon sugar, ect., and space them apart so I can see them and reach them easily.
The spice jars also lay down nicely if you like to store your spices in a drawer instead of a cupboard.
These beautiful spice jars come in 3 different sizes and include labels as well.  If there is a spice that you have, but not a label, you can type and print it out on their website. You can also order a Shaker Set for spices that you need to shake, such as salt, instead of those you measure with a spoon.
I know at this point you are wondering...."Where can I get these?"
Here you go!
Carol and David Peterman have been great to work with and I know you will love all of their spicy ideas.  There is a lot more to see on their website, so give them a visit, and spice up your life today!
And if you have any clever spice ideas, please share!  We'd love to hear from you!
